One day tour in Athens and Cape Sounio!
The tour starts by visiting the Holy Rack of Acropolis. There you will see the Parthenon and the Temple of Godess Niki (Victory) and the other temple Erechtheion. We will continue with the Acropoolis museum. Next stop is the Temple of Zeus the father of all Gods and all men. Driving to the temple, we will see Hadrian’s Arch and the National Garden, a breeze of green in the heart of the city. We will visit Kalimarmaro stadium, the symbol of the 1896 Marathon race and stadium, to start again a new Olympics. Our next stop, Lycabetus hill, where you will see all Athens, untill the open sea. After Lycabetus, we will see the first Library, first Academy and first university in the new Athens. Next stop is Syntagma Square, where we will see the soldiers perfoming the change of guards. Next we will arrive in Plaka area, the most interesting neighbourhood of Athens. After one stop in Vouliagmeni Lake we will continue got the end to Athens Cape of Sounio. The foundation of the Poseidon Temple that was mostly made of marble, set in the fifth century. On our way back to the city we will stop so that you will enjoy your meal in the restaurant with sea view.
Delphi – The Novel of the Earth (185km away)
Delphi is considered the most spiritual and mystical llocation of Greece, and perphaps of the entire world. It is a destination of global cultural heritage, recognised by Unenco and regarded as one of the “Holy Places”. Delphi was an ancient Greek city, home to one of the most important oracles of the ancient world. The city during the Homeriv age is also well known as “Python”. It was considered the navel of earth in ancient times as according to anient legend when Zeus relaxed two eaglessimultaneously, one to east and one to the west, they both met at Delphi. The oragle temple was dedicated to the god Apollo, the medium of pristess was called “Pythia”, a virgin maid, blessed with being able to communicate with Gods via oragles and prophecoes which were then recorded and interpreted by the priests of a Delphi. The Delphi archeological museum is one of the most important museums in Greece. The most impoortant exhibits in its halls are the Charioteer, the Siher Bull and Sphinx of Naxos.
Visit: Arachova 10 km away from Delphi, Galaxidi 30minutes away, famous for the blue and crystal water beaches! Osios Loucas monastery in 430m includes the list of Unesco. He even predicted of Nikoforos fokas. During the age of Romanos in 941 A.D.
Argolida – Discover Peloponnese
We start our trip with a first stop on the Corinth Canal, the greatest work done in Greece in the 19th Century! They needed 13 years to complete the work (1880-1893) it was 6.5 km ling and 8 meters high. The canal connects the Corithian Gulf with the Saronic Gulf. Nowdays 12,000 chips pass through every year! Next stop Mycenaeans, the heart of Greece from 1,600 to 1,100 BC.. Mycenaens is the most impressive of the ancient sites of Argolida.It was excarated in 1870 by the German Heinrick Scliemann. The famous lion gate stands proudly overhead as vistiors pass underneath it. Historically, Argolida is one of the most important areas in the Peloponnese. We continue for the popular coastal town of the Nafplion, the capital of Argolida and first capital of the Newly Greece, after the Greek war of Independence. It was the capital, from 1828 until 1833, when Athens became the new capital. The Venetian fortress of Palamidi which crows the city, provides inspiring views. It is considered as the city of lovers! Last stop of the trip is Epidauros. The theatre of Epidauros dating from the 3rd Century B.C., is the most famous and best preferred of all ancient theatres in Greece. Seating over 13.000 in 55 tiers. It is main trace of a sanctuary dedicated to Asklepios, the God of healing. Every Summer there are festivals and perfomances that take place in the theatre, bringing back to life the magnificent acoustics!
